I personally don’t like putting any religious context into anything. Or making/putting a Religion in an already made Universe. (I have made my own stuff for my stories, but it’s for world and character development. )
Sure, you could draw parallels, but they’re all stories, and stories tend to do that, whether on purpose or not.
I’m not particularly religious myself. It’s one of those… things… a topic that is sensitive and very personal for each individual.
I don’t mind reading what other people have to say, I just dont personally like putting anything into it.
(But if it’s put into story like Ao no Exorcist, that’s good stuff, because it doesn’t directly push any actual religion tropes and ideals, it’s just a story bending characters to fit a narrative. That’s the kind of “religious” stuff i can get into, because it’s not an attack on terms of character, it’s dealing with supernatural, powerful forces that have merit. Demons and chants, exorcism etc. The way FMA handles it too is really good.)
