Master Eraqus is the one to take the most blame for what happened in KH
He knew about Xehanort’s plans very early on yet barely did something to stop him.
After that, he seems to be on good terms with him when Xehanort brought Ven to Land of Departure.
During that visit Xehanort sensed dark energy from Terra meaning he had an eye on Terra 4 years before the events of BBS.
He welcomes Xehanort again and invites him to see Terra and Aqua take the Mark of Mastery exam. An exam HE persuaded Eraqus to have or else they would’ve been named Masters without it.
Xehanort messes with the exam because definitely knew Terra would show signs of darkness and that is a big No No to Eraqus.
Xehanort made sure Terra would fail since it would give him an opportunity to manipulate him.
Eraqus was ready to kill Ven “an innocent boy he grew fond of” but wasn’t determined to take down Xehanort when he knew of his plans long ago.
Allowing Xehanort in the Land of Departure put his pupils at risk.
So if you think BBS events occurred because it was the fault of the trio, especially Terra, then you’re mistaken, it’s Eraqus’ fault.
The events of BBS happened because Xehanort been planning it for YEARS. Not because it was Terra, Aqua and Ven’s fault.. their biggest flaw was being too naive.
